For the very first gospel concert at Betty's Black Pearl, there will not only be prayers, but also laughter - and hearty laughter at that. Because when Precious Etteh and Christian Bakotessa take to the stage together, divine inspiration meets life stories that have more groove than the church choir on Sunday morning.

Precious Etteh brings gospel power straight from the heart: born in Calabar, raised in Cross River State, now a voice of hope in a church in Bremen-Neustadt. She started singing at the age of 16 - gospel, of course, because when God calls, you pick up. In 2021, she topped it all off and won the Top 20 Gospel Music Awards by a whopping 8,000 votes. In short: this woman sings so convincingly that even the angels vote.

Christian Bakotessa provides the other half of the miracle: having grown up with his uncle in Brazzaville, he found his musical home in the church choir at the age of 17 - until music was banned in Congo and he fled to Germany at the end of 2001. After arriving in Bremen (bookbinder by day, stage magnet by night), he became the guitarist and singer of the band Black-X. Ever since his legendary performance on Das Supertalent - including a gold moment from Dieter Bohlen - the whole of Germany has known that when Christian sings, people believe in miracles again.
