/ BETWEEN THE LINES /

The exhibition shows a selection of works by the artist Lily Tonscheidt. On closer inspection of the works, it becomes clear that the line plays a special role in them, as each artwork is created from just one concise line. A line that enables characters to be formed, stories to be told and emotions to be sparked.

The artist herself describes her style as "contemporary line art", as her art is characterized by the interaction of lines, empty spaces and areas of colour. The process of creating her art and the lines are always done intuitively. She uses various surfaces, techniques and materials. The exhibition presents both works on paper and on canvas, as well as works painted in acrylic or created using lino printing and lithography.

The artworks are created on the basis of feelings and are inspired by impressions that the artist transforms into abstract forms and colors. They do not represent a concrete message, but invite the viewer to read between the lines - or rather - the lines.

The German-French artist Lily Tonscheidt (née Gehrke), born and raised in Schleswig-Holstein in 1992, works in the fashion and media industry. After various positions in Germany and abroad, she now lives and works in Munich.
