chael Alexander Lauter was born in Bitterfeld in 1947. His mother had
fled here from East Prussia. His father, an officer in the Red Army,
had been ordered back home before the boy was born.
Even as a child, Sascha sensed that something was wrong with his origins.
They were just suspicions, but none of the adults he knew confirmed them.
