Bleidiät & Magic+Medicine

In the organizer's words:

Cook a dish with progressive rock, jazz, a pinch of funk and add a big dollop of improvisation. Then give it a good stir and bake it in a preheated loudspeaker at minus 45 degrees Celsius - that's Bleidiät. Bleidiät play music that does not adhere to genre boundaries and create their own style. They also have their brand new album "Plumbum Bebop" with them. It contains an energetic mix of their current songs.

Magic+Medicine from Oldenburg, founded in 2021, has dedicated itself entirely to progressive rock. Winning the Kultursommer band contest at the University of Oldenburg brought them to the stage of the Oldenburg Kultursommer in July 2023. Detailed song structures and soaring arcs of tension create a wide range of emotional moods. They tell self-contained stories in their songs or even perform entire scenes. Important role models are Riverside, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater. Their symbiosis of classic prog rock influences, where organ, synth and guitars are used equally prominently, and the theatrical lyrics creates a special flair that is sometimes reminiscent of rock opera. This impression is also supported by the versatile voice of the lead singer.
