We're happy to announce another night of our cross-cultural event series Blitz Transgressive: Austrian-Indie legends Attwenger, Munich based BaShBozouki's and our very own Sarmabot will unearth club culture's unlikely, but thrilling ties, with European Folk music.
Over the course of their career, Attwenger from Linz, the cornerstone of Austria's DIY & independent scene, have married alpine folk music with Punk, Hip-Hop and Club music. and sharp and witty sociopolitical commentary which blurs the lines between English and Austrian German for truly peerless sounds. The press has always struggled to pinpoint the iconic sound and has dubbed it > Folkpunkcountrytranceelectroraptrap <, > Laconic, bitter, tender and danceable <, but the words of the great and late John Peel probably describe them best: > I have no idea what it's all about, but I like the general noise a great deal...<. Attwenger have matured with style and we're happy to see them reconnect with club culture at the Blitz Club - and have our very first artist from veteran Munich label Trikont on the Museumsinsel, probably our hometown's most dazzling and idiosyncratic label, too!
BaShBozouki's is the project of Munich based musician and cultural activist Asmir Šabić who fuses intercultural sounds, electronics and improvisation and draws on his wide-ranging cultural influences with roots in his native Balkan-area. Sarmabot will round off the night with a set that will invite you to listen & dance and explores folkloristic sounds and influences from the perspective of abstract and leftfield club music.

We are pleased to announce another night of our intercultural event series Blitz Transgressive: Austrian indie legends Attwenger, Munich's BaShBozouki's and our very own Sarmabot will uncover the unexpected but exciting connections of club culture to European folk music.
Throughout their career, Attwenger from Linz, the cornerstones of the Austrian DIY and independent scene, have combined alpine folk music with punk, hip-hop and club music, always with sharp and smart socio-political commentary that has redefined the (dielectic? Or dialectical?) boundaries between English and Austrian, resulting in a truly incomparable sound. The press is looking for "Volkspunkcountrytranceelectroraptrap.", "Streetwise, subversive, mangy and fresh. Language and sound art in superlative heights.", "Gstanzl-Trap from the here and now." All the way to "groove-slang-punk duo" - always in vain for adequate descriptions. We say: Attwenger have matured with style, and we are delighted that they will be indulging in club culture again at the Blitz Club in March - and thus welcoming artists from the Trikont stable for the first time, the shrillest and most dazzling label in Munich and southern Germany.
BaShBozouki's is the project of Munich-based musician and cultural activist Asmir Šabić, which combines intercultural sounds, electronics and improvisation and draws on his wide-ranging cultural influences that began in his home region of the Balkans. Before, between and after the concerts, Sarmabot will round off the evening with a set that invites you to listen and dance, exploring folkloric sounds and influences from the perspective of abstract and leftfield club music.
