August 2024 at Blitz Club promises many special sets and back-to-backs. Friday, August 16th, thrills with a rare back-to-back set featuring Goldie and Special Request: two of the UK's most crucial DJs and producers going head-to-head for a night of Jungle, Breaks, Drum & Bass, UK-Hardcore, Rave, and beyond! They're joined by the stunning local selectors Jonas Friedlich and Sarmabot who thrill with a love for all the great and broken outrè grooves that you never even knew they existed.
Is there much left to add to Goldie's legacy? Probably not. To quote Munich cabaret forefather Karl Valentin: >Everything has already been said, just not by everyone yet.< For everyone joining the party: Clifford Joseph Price, aka Goldie, has been the seminal figure of (early) UK Bass music, Jungle, and Drum & Bass, firmly establishing the genres in music history with a string of historical releases such as >Terminator,< >Angel,< and >Timeless,< proving their musical depth.
Goldie steps up for a unique set, joining tonight's UK dance music summit with Paul Woolford's daring and underground-leaning alias: Special Request. Initially started to revisit and examine the rave sounds and styles that greatly shaped him as a teen, Special Request has become Woolford'screative calling card. He approaches his early influences with wit and passion, blending contemporary perspectives with nostalgia. He weaves UK-Hardcore, Jungle, rough Techno, Rave, and even Ambient into a colorful tapestry of the UK's defining underground sounds, best displayed in his rollercoaster DJ sets.
Opening up the evening are Munich locals Sarmabot and Jonas Friedlich. Sarmabot is of the brains behind the canceled party series, regularly appearing at Orbital Reflector events, and running her own radio show, Znoj FM. She wows with idiosyncratic and irresistible selections out of the ordinary. Jonas Friedlich is another oddball selector with a healthy dose of humor and spins a truly stunning blend of idiosyncratic grooves avoiding the regular four to the floor pattern as if the floor was lava. Watch your body move to the grooves like you've rarely seen it before!

August 2024 at Blitz Club promises a series of special sets and back-to-backs. On Friday, August 16, a rare back-to-back set awaits us with Goldie and Special Request: two of the UK's most influential DJs and producers coming together for a night of jungle, breaks, drum & bass, UK hardcore, rave and more! Is there much more to add to Goldie's legacy? Probably not. As Munich's cabaret luminary Karl Valentin aptly remarked: >Everything has already been said, just not by everyone.< For those who are new to the subject: Clifford Joseph Price, better known as Goldie, is a formative figure in early UK bass music, jungle and drum & bass. With historic releases such as >Terminator<, >Angel< und >Timeless< he has firmly established these genres in the canon of music history and impressively demonstrated the expressiveness and depth of these sounds.
Goldie meets Special Request at today's UK dance music summit: Paul Woolford's bold and underground-oriented alias. Originally started as a retrospective exploration of the rave sounds and styles that influenced him as a teenager, Special Request has become Woolford's creative flagship. He approaches his early influences with wit and passion, striking a balance between contemporary perspective and nuanced nostalgia. Woolford fuses UK hardcore, jungle, gritty techno, rave and even ambient into a colorful amalgam of the UK's defining underground sounds, best showcased in his diverse and intoxicating DJ sets.
Opening the evening is Munich local Sarmabot: one of the driving forces behind the cancelled party series, a regular guest at Orbital Reflector events and curator of her own radio show Znoj FM. She impresses on the dancefloor with her idiosyncratic and irresistible selections away from the ordinary and expected. The charismatic eccentric Jonas Friedlich plays unusual grooves with a healthy dose of humor. If you need a Four To The Floor kick to dance to, you haven't experienced Jonas Friedlich yet. Wait and see how your body moves to the grooves like never before!
