Blue October are coming to Germany for five dates in May 2026!

Happy 30th birthday to Blue October! The alternative rock band from San Marcos, Texas, came together in 1995 and over the past three decades has not only built up an enormous fan base with award-winning hits such as "Hate Me", "Into The Ocean" and "I Hope You're Happy", but has also become a fundamental part of the international rock scene. Intimate lyrics, sprawling soundscapes and captivating live performances have been the recipe for the art of Justin Furstenfeld (vocals), Jeremy Furstenfeld (drums), Matt Noveskey (bass), Ryan Delahoussave (strings/piano) and Steve Schiltz (lead guitar) since their debut album "The Answers" in 1998. Since the beginning of their career, the US-Americans have been releasing studio albums at regular intervals of a maximum of two to three years between each record, among which the album "Foiled" (2006) stands out and in retrospect may have been Blue October's breakthrough. A new album, "Happy Birthday", was added to the discography last year. What particularly distinguishes the band's songs are the intimate lyrics, in which singer and songwriter Justin Furstenfeld focuses on topics such as mental health, depression and addiction in autobiographical texts. These themes are also prevalent in the band's documentary "Get Back Up" and give the entire output of Blue October an important deeper meaning. Musically, the emotionally charged rock music of alternative, post-grunge and electronic elements stands out from its genre peers with the use of dramatic strings, among other things. All of this makes for an intense, epic experience, especially on the live stage, which is also carried by the raw emotions of the lyrics. Because Blue October are at least as hard-working live as they are in the studio. They will prove this once again next year on their European tour, where they will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their most important album "Foiled" in style. At the end of May, the band will also be coming to Germany for five dates in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Hamburg and Leipzig.
