The popular Irish & American Folk Nights at SCHATZKISTL have long since become a permanent fixture. Now Blues Hotel enriches the musical roundelay: a rhythm'n'blues formation that has stood for unadulterated sound and pure joy of playing since 2008.

With Matthias Mautner's distinctive "black voice" and a band that fuses guitars, bass, drums and blues harp into a powerful groove without any technical frills, Blues Hotel serves up a set that oscillates between tradition and its own signature style. In addition to classics by Muddy Waters, Wet Willie, Popa Chubby and Delbert McClinton, the program also includes original compositions.

Typical Blues Hotel: musical border crossings that allow for soul and funk colors as well as the roots of Mississippi blues. After a few songs at the latest, the five Mannheimers transform the house into a pulsating rhythm'n'blues venue - passionate, raw and full of energy.
