The in-house theater group blumengroup presents its new project for the final time: “To Be or Not to Be,” a comedy by Nick Whitby based on the film of the same name by Ernst Lubitsch.
In the play, the Polski Theater in Warsaw becomes a hub of resistance during World War II, where actors Josef and Maria Tura and their troupe use cunning, masquerade, and their talent to defy the Nazis.
The play is a satire that combines wit and depth, highlighting not only the horrors of war but also the power of art and humor. The production bridges the past and the present with sharpness, lightness, and—typical of the blumengroup—entertainment elements.
Janet Siering directs.
The set design is by Lorenz Deutsch, former artistic director of the JTF.
The cast includes Stella Zuber, Martin Lehnert, Patrick Grasser, Sarah Grasser, Attila Süle, Perdita Winterstein, Aygün Salik, Patrick Schroll, Christian Müller, and Lorenz Deutsch.
