What they share is almost only the feeling of getting the worst out of each other: After fifty years of marriage, Vigo travels to India without his wife Terese. She follows him, full of anger and doubt. In the foreign country it becomes clear: it's all about the whole thing. When Terese turns away, Vigo begins to write - told from his wife's point of view, their entire history together.

Bodo Kirchhoff, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1948, is a German author and screenwriter. Following his highly acclaimed novels Die Liebe in groben Zügen and Verlangen und Melancholie , he was awarded the German Book Prize in 2016 for his novella Widerfahrnis , among others. Kirchhoff lives in Frankfurt am Main and on Lake Garda.
