The Thuringian clan: as organists, cantors, town pipers and court trumpeters, the Bachs shaped the Central German musical landscape for generations. As Thomaskantor, Johann Sebastian created music for eternity, and his sons went out into the world, where they found their place in Hamburg, London and Berlin. Together with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the BR Choir under its Artistic Director Peter Dijkstra highlights masterpieces from three Bach generations. "If you are looking for musical adventures, Héloïse Werner is the right person for you", wrote the Observer. The young Frenchwoman is making a name for herself as a performer and composer and was invited by the BR Choir to create a contemporary "counterpoint" to the Bach tradition.
