“Fourteen Reveries” – Fourteen Daydreams
According to the *New York Times*, he is the most influential jazz pianist of the past two decades: Brad Mehldau, the romantic and innovator who is equally at home across so many genres and has the ability to transform the familiar into the unprecedented. As one of the most lyrical and intimate voices in contemporary piano music, the Grammy-winning American musician has forged a unique path that combines jazz’s spirit of discovery with the structure of classical music and the allure of pop. In his new program, “Fourteen Reveries,” Mehldau reflects on the inner experience we create from within our own consciousness, independent of others. “Fourteen Reveries” is a meditation on the space a composer leaves between specific instructions, allowing the beauty of the music to reveal itself while leaving room for new discoveries.
