A dance piece for the very youngest about finding in transformation
A dance world that tells of the small, scratching noises in the forest. Of the creatures that inhabit and transform it. But watch out: Is everything always as it seems? Or could everything be completely different? Sommer*Nacht*Traum invites the audience to experience the stories of the forest and become part of them piece by piece. A play to watch and take part in!
For Sommer*Nacht*Traum, the artistic team worked together with two kindergartens with a focus on hearing and incorporated their input into the development of the play. Two dancers and a musician perform on stage. Based on Shakespeare's classic play, the piece asks what is normal or typical: does a donkey have to be a donkey because it looks like one? And when are these attributions learned? Everything can be looked at anew in the enchanted forest: Through dance, music, dressing up and light, the atmospheres of the enchanted forest come to the stage and almost anything seems possible.
Andreas Simon and Anna Brass form the body art duo Brass and Simon Performance Art, which conducts research across disciplines, ages and genres: the focus is on socio-cultural projects with children and young people, professional concept performances and pieces for children aged 3 and over. In their long-standing collaboration, Brass and Simon complement each other in their focus on dance and theater. This is linked to the testing of new approaches to aesthetic education in the transitional area of performance and interactivity with a focus on dance and theater for the very young. Brass and Simon Performance Art stands for contemporary, critical, participatory and democratic work.
