Brings - Tour 2026
In the organizer's words:
The band, founded by brothers Peter and Stephan Brings, has
past two decades
that musicians can experience. In the late 1990s, the band had
their famous fathers (alongside Rolly Brings, these include singing legend Tommy
Engel and politician Norbert Blüm)
behind them. Then, in 2000, with “Superjeilezick,” they achieved what one
easily call a jackpot. This electrifying
power polka has become more popular with each passing year and is now
one of the most popular songs in the Cologne dialect
. Thanks to “Superjeilezick,” doors opened wide for Brings in the
carnival stronghold of Cologne. A new era began for the band, complete with
a thoroughly successful image makeover.
Then things really took off one after another. Hardly a Carnival season in
recent years has gone by without a new party hit from Brings
. “Poppe, Kaate, Danze” (initially treated as a scandalous song
, but now one of the band’s biggest crowd-pleasers), “Su
lang mer noch am Lääve sin”
,
"Halleluja"
, “Dat is Geil”
, “Polka, Polka,” or
the ever-moving “Mama, wir danken
you”—are all resounding proof of just how well Brings understands the sensitivities and
emotional states of their fellow human beings. They’ve also developed an absolutely keen sense
for original cover versions: “We’d have to do another 20
again” (the adaptation of the ’50s hit by Cologne veteran Gerhard
Jussenhoven) and the Zarah Leander evergreen “Nur nicht aus Liebe
weinen”—they’ve breathed new life into these songs with gusto. And they
they excel at seamlessly incorporating gypsy melodies, polkas, and other folk
energy seamlessly into their own songs and amplify them with the power of
rock music. “In a Carnival set, we try to capture
half an hour to capture the essence of a concert. We want to
get people excited about coming by and checking out a real
concert,”
, says Peter Brings, who, along with his bandmates, delivers
energetic stage performances and tireless live presence on
on nationwide tours and at festivals—as well as during Carnival—
performance with heart and soul: No one sweats more, no one
gives it their all more visibly, and no band in the German-speaking world lets the
the audience experience their music in a more tangible and immediate way at concerts.
Brings have never minced words. The fact that they’ve occasionally
ruffled a few feathers with their songs has, in the end, only made them even more popular
. Their concerts across Germany are attended by thousands of fans every year
—and have been for over 30 years. As their biggest hit says, they’re real “Kölsche Jungs”
