In (BROKEN) BRIDGES, the transnational ensemble Hajusom deals with personal and collective experiences of separation, loss and destruction.
In an old world in ruins, they search for opportunities for a new beginning - opportunities to build new bridges. They are joined by a group of young artists from Burkina Faso who are confronted with the legacy of a ruined world, entangled in the dependencies and power distributions of a post-colonial, capitalist system.
The groups meet in dance and use the power of tango to form new communities.
This interdisciplinary dance performance is accompanied by the Soeurs Doga, two singers from Burkina Faso and the Hamburg electro musician Viktor Marek. They provide a deep, propulsive live soundtrack that flies all the way to Ouagadougou.
