In honor of Hans Werner Henze

A musica viva concert with clear contrasts: new works, unusual timbres and an impressive conclusion.

Matthias Pintscher conducts the European premiere of Lisa Streich's new piano concerto BLACK SWAN - a colorful sound world between control and openness, with Tamara Stefanovich as soloist. This is followed by a world premiere by JüriReinvere: Lied von den zwei Erden for soprano, Kannel and orchestra - contemporary in expression, but with a deliberate sense of emotion and romanticism. The program concludes with Hans Werner Henze's dazzling symphonic poem Heliogabalus Imperator: an opulent, visually powerful sound panorama full of contrasts and surprising twists and turns.
