Bruno Taut is one of the outstanding representatives of the New Building Movement. As an architect and urban planner, he set new standards for social housing; four of his housing estates in Berlin alone are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Bruno Taut also brought his many talents to society as a painter, draftsman, stage designer, as well as a writer, utopian and pacifist. The Bruno Taut Forum was founded by members in February 2019 as a working group within the Deutscher Werkbund Berlin and is now an independent association. It will publicly illuminate complex, socially relevant topics in order to generate knowledge gains for the present and future. Last but not least, the Bruno Taut Forum aims to commemorate the great humanist through the reception and reflection of his work, activity and life, in which intellect, artistry and sensuality are so aptly reflected.
