One day after the Frankfurt "Stiftung Buchkunst" gala for the 25 "Most Beautiful German Books", Leipzig-based photographer and book designer Christian Rothe and publisher Günter Jeschonnek are presenting the photo-text book BUCHENWALD - Im Dickicht vom Ettersberg (Hartmann Books), which was awarded a prize by the foundation's jury, at the ROMANFABRIK. 121 black-and-white photographs taken with a large-format camera enter into a dialog with literary texts by Bruno Apitz, José Fosty, Imre Kertész and Jorge Semprún as well as essays by Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, Günter Jeschonnek and Andrea Karle. The multimedia presentation will be accompanied by artistic contributions from Monika Held (author) and Gregor Praml (musician/director of ROMANFABRIK) in conversation with Lena Carlebach (President of the International Committee Buchenwald-Dora and Kommandos since April 2025) and Michael Weber (director of THEATER WILLY PRAML).
