Christina Fonthe's emotional debut novel is finally being published by Diogenes in a German translation by Michaela Grabinger! And the author is a guest in Berlin.

After unrest in Kinshasa, Bijoux is sent to live with her aunt Mira in London as a teenager. Here she falls in love for the first time - with a woman. She has to hide this from her religious aunt, but she has no idea that she also has a secret: the real reason why she came to Europe many years ago, to a country where she still doesn't feel at home. Bijoux knows that she doesn't want to end up like Aunt Mira. And makes a decision.

Christina Fonthes, born in 1987 in Kinshasa, Congo, is now a London-based author and founder of Rewrite, a writing academy for PoC authors. In 2021, she won the Royal Society of Literature Sky Arts Writers Award, founded by Bernardine Evaristo. 'Wherever You Go' is Christina Fonthes' first novel.
