Trio Alkatrib and Sylke Mai | World & Raggae, Chanson

The Syrian musician, composer and music teacher Basel Alkatrib comes from a family of musicians and was taught for the first six years by his father Naim Alkatrib, a well-known Syrian conductor, musician and music teacher. He received oud lessons and then learned the violin on his own, and later the piano, kanun, guitar, baglama and bozouk. He studied music education at the Damascus University of Music. He is constantly enriching his repertoire, which consists of diverse musical styles such as traditional Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Turkish songs, Argentinian and Jewish pieces, with new pieces in collaboration with musicians from all over the world.

Barbara Greulich sets to music what she sees and feels. Her songs arise from moments of inspiration and are both dramatic and narrative, dreamy or sarcastic. Her songs combine catchy melodies and passionate feelings and encourage you to think and groove along. Barbara entertains her audience with charming ease and displays a voice that can sound both powerful and tender and fragile. In addition to the German album titles, her repertoire also includes songs in English and French.

Lucie Caroulle | French chanson

Born and raised in Lyon, Lucie was already enthusiastic about music at the age of three. At the age of nine, she was accepted into the children's choir at the conservatory and began her professional singing training there. She then had the opportunity to sing at the Théâtre des Célestins, Basilique de Fourvière, Opéra de Lyon and also once at the Leipzig Opera. She also discovered the piano and guitar. After school, Lucie studied singing and sang with the Emelthée choir in Lyon, with whom she performed at the Auditorium de Lyon, for example.

Lucie has lived in Leipzig since 2018 and has been singing in the Gewandhaus Choir since November 2020. Since spring 2021, Lucie has been writing her own songs and accompanying herself on the guitar.

Colheita Musi | Brazilian music & folklore

COLHEITA MUSI is a transatlantic musical project that sprouts between Brazil, Portugal and Germany. Rooted in tradition and with an eye to the horizon, it proposes a sonic fusion where popular and experimental dance are in harmony. Its sound resonates with a fluid, post-tropical aesthetic in which the ancestral and the contemporary meet without borders. It is music as hybridization, memory and reinvention. The aim is to create a sonic expression that embodies the idea: "sound for a new day" - a musical dawn that renews body and soul, unites past and future and invites an organic, vibrant and plural dance. At the intersection of traditional music and experimentation, the project gives voice to a multiple, rooted and ever-changing Brazil, celebrating a sonic territory open to the world.
