Bunkerbriefe

In the organizer's words:

Reading from the "Bunker Letters" with music

Bremen/Berlin, World War II: Nori and Dackel cope with the difficult everyday life characterized by birth and life, survival, illness and death. Between bombing raids and strict Nazi rule, the two young friends regularly exchange letters. Each on her own - and yet together - they try to survive this terrible time. The poet Sabine Schiffner has transformed 80 of her grandmother's letters into a polyphonic text. Using documents from her own family archive, she has reconstructed the surprising story of two very different women's lives. In the process, the search for the story of her ancestor has developed into a discovery of herself. The autofictional novel Bunkerbriefe combines historical testimonies and the author's impressions.

The reading will take place as part of the Auschwitz commemoration around Memorial Day 27.1. as an event of the State Center for Political Education.

The musicians Insa and Enno Popken will accompany the reading with guitar, saxophone and flute.
