Céu on tour with new album

Singer-songwriter Céu is one of Brazil's most important and influential musicians. She herself once described her style as trip-hop samba. A furious mixture of bossa compositions and samba poetry that defies conventional expectations with its surprising breaks and dissonances: Enriched with dub effects, reggae, electronica, soul, urban folk and a well-balanced pinch of jazz, it has always remained varied over many albums. Now she returns to celebrate the release of her album "Novela" (April 2024).

Céu was born in São Paulo in 1980, learned music theory and Brazilian concert guitar at an early age and decided to pursue a musical career as a teenager. Her debut album, released in 2005, with sophisticated compositions of samba and electronica, earned her a nomination for "Best New Artist" at the Latin Grammys. With her albums "Tropix" (2016) and "APKÁ" (2020), she won several Brazilian awards and two Latin Grammys. She demonstrated her broad musical spectrum with the cover album "Um Gosto de Sol", which includes interpretations of classics by the Beastie Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Fiona Apple and João Gilberto. The concept album "Caravana Sereia Bloom" was a journey through the musical traditions of Brazil, enriched with electronic elements and dub effects, surf rock, jazz trumpets and psychedelic organ sounds.

Their new album was produced together with Adrian Younge and Pupillo. The tour for the album promises infectious rhythms and captivating melodies with new songs and the big hits of her almost twenty-year career.
