Joseph Haydn's Opus 9 - the first group of works that the composer himself included in the complete edition of his quartets published by the Viennese publishing house Artaria - marks the beginning of the history of the classical string quartet around 1770. Opus 33, composed ten years later, already marks one of the early high points of the genre. In the concert of the Chiaroscuro Quartet, which performs in a historical sound picture on the sides of a violin, Schubert's famous "Rosamunde" Quartet from 1824 can be heard alongside Haydn's masterpieces.
