Freiburg punk rock band Choked by Gum consistently pursue their credo "the world is bad, life remains beautiful". When the quartet with its classic line-up belts out its songs full of anger and despair about the fate of the world with a lot of wordplay, there is not a dry eye in the house. The result is presumptuously catchy, profoundly proletarian and devilishly brute worms in the ear that are fun, catchy and wonderfully charming.

Also live a feast of anarchic madness. Whether it's a small harbour pub, a self-managed center or a festival, the energetic, rather weird live show makes everything shake. Dance and punk rock: this way!

SKA ALLÜREN

Away from the pop-cultural mainstream, SkaAllüren have been presenting their rough and danceable definition of socially critical ska-punk for 20 years now. Inspired by bands such as The Toasters, Vodoo Glow Skulls and Leftöver Crack, the eight musicians combine fast-paced offbeat rhythms with
powerful shouts and polyphonic brass melodies. After more than 250 concerts in Germany, Poland, France and Switzerland - with Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Mark Foggo, Buster Shuffle, Toxoplasma and Stagebottles, among others - their debut EP "Mainstream Regime" was finally released in May 2015. Seven songs between politics, party and social criticism leave a clear and unmistakable maxim:
