Swinging through Advent! The musical virtuoso Chris Hopkins, the American singer Shaunette Hildabrand and a gifted jazz quartet set the mood for Christmas Eve with Swinging Christmas. Well-known Christmas melodies in an elegantly swinging guise meet jazzy new arrangements. After three acclaimed concerts, they will once again bring Christmas cheer to the Silbersaal this year.
Jazz musician Chris Hopkins
Chris Hopkins brings all the good gifts you could wish for at Christmas: a sense of style, virtuosity and swing. He was born in Princeton (New Jersey) in 1972. Equally adept on piano and alto saxophone, he is one of the busiest artists on the international jazz scene. For over 20 years he led the successful ensemble Echoes of Swing, with which he became internationally renowned for his innovative approach to the jazz tradition. Chris Hopkins is also celebrated every year for his very special Christmas program.
A lively Christmas season
Chris Hopkins leads us past all the shoals of Christmas aesthetics through the joys of Christmas. How does he do it, the jazz pianist by the grace of God? He comes with a band that swings like no other since the angels danced above the stable in Bethlehem, and with a singer whose voice can do what few have been able to do since the angels sang their hosanna.
