Christine Thürmer, the most hiked woman in the world, has discovered after walking over 65,000 kilometers on five continents: People hike everywhere, but everywhere differently.
On her last trails in Asia, she survived earthquakes, typhoons and an overdose of kimchi, then made a pilgrimage through the European cultural landscape to recuperate and has battled her way through the wildernesses of America and the Australian outback several times. In the process, the globetrotter learned that not only climate and terrain influence the hiking experience, but also eating habits, beauty ideals and labor laws.
