CHRISTOPHER STREET DAY DEMONSTRATION LEIPZIG 2026
PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:
2026 Motto: “No rest, no turning back. Queer rights, one step at a time!”
Christopher Street Day Leipzig (Leipzig Pride) is one of the largest queer demonstrations and festivals in Saxony and eastern Germany. In 2026, downtown Leipzig will once again transform into a loud, colorful, and united celebration of diversity, equality, and queer life. Around Augustusplatz, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, inter, non-binary, and queer people will celebrate and march together with their allies for an open society where everyone can live as they are. Last year, around 20,000 people gathered, and another strong show of support is expected in 2026.
When will CSD Leipzig 2026 take place?

What Christopher Street Day Is All About
CSD commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York, when queer people first stood up in a broad and visible way against police violence and discrimination. To this day, Christopher Street Day is both a celebration of visibility and self-determination and a political demonstration. Under the motto“No rest, no turning back. Queer rights, step by step!”CSD Leipzig 2026 sends a clear message against queerphobia, transphobia, and homophobia, as well as against attempts to roll back hard-won rights. It’s about protection from discrimination, the rights of trans and intersex people, queer families, and solidarity with everyone who still faces hostility because of their identity and love.
Here’s what to expect during the program week
CSD Leipzig is much more than a single day. Throughout the entire week from July 10 to 18, 2026, there will be a diverse program featuring lectures, readings, film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, concerts, city tours, and parties. Numerous organizations, projects, initiatives, and artists are organizing events that highlight the realities of queer life in all its diversity—from political education and community gatherings to exuberant celebrations.
Who is CSD Leipzig for?
Christopher Street Day Leipzig is open to everyone: to the LGBTQIA+ community as well as to families, friends, and anyone who wants to take a stand and advocate for a diverse, discrimination-free society. Whether you’re attending for the first time or have been marching for years, there’s a place for you here. Every voice, every participant, and every spectator makes Pride stronger and more visible.
