In the USA there is a war between the citizens, the country is divided into two camps. As events continue to escalate, war journalists Lee and Joel set off for Washington to interview the president. Up-and-coming photojournalist Jessie wants to accompany them on their long journey despite the unpredictable situation. Together with press veteran Samy, the group embarks on a dangerous journey into the unpredictable.

Director and writer Alex Garland (EX MACHINA, THE BEACH, 28 DAYS LATER, MEN) has been dealing with phenomena of contemporary history in sometimes prophetic works since the beginning of his career. His latest film shows a country that is being destroyed by a conflict in which the parties involved irreconcilably follow only their own logic. A film that is tantamount to a warning. And whose drastic, increasingly action-packed images are not least a stylistic critique of the media's handling of crisis situations.
