LATEST: Our birthday cleanup on Wednesday has been canceled

According to the latest weather forecasts, temperatures with a heat index of up to 37 °C are expected during the time of our cleanup.

Therefore, we have decided to cancel the cleanup.

Given the predicted extreme heat, we cannot guarantee the health and safety of all participants. A cleanup involves physical activity outdoors—walking, bending over, and carrying items—for an extended period of time. Combined with the intense heat on the banks of the Rhine, this poses a serious health risk.

The German Weather Service expressly recommends avoiding physical exertion outdoors during extreme heat and postponing activities if possible. As organizers, we cannot and do not wish to take responsibility for the associated risks.

As sad as we are about this decision, the health of our participants always takes priority for us.

We want everyone to be able to participate in our events safely and in good health—and that is precisely why we have decided to cancel them.

Of course, we’ll reschedule the birthday cleanup. We’ll announce a new date as soon as possible.

On June 24, 2026, our next cleanup on the Rhine will be something very special: Blockblocks Cleanup is celebrating its 8th anniversary!

For eight years, we’ve been working together to keep our rivers and oceans clean and raise awareness about our environment—and we’d like to celebrate that with you: naturally, in the way we love best—by organizing a cleanup event together.

Together, we’ll clean up and make sure that trash doesn’t pollute our waterways and oceans, thereby posing a threat to animals, nature, and the environment. 

We’ll bring everything you need for a cleanup. Equipped with gloves, grabbers, buckets, and trash bags, we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work with you.

All you need to bring is plenty of motivation, a positive attitude, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Come join us, help pick up trash, meet dedicated people from the community, and raise a glass with us to eight years of dedication, teamwork, and many successful cleanups. Every helping hand counts—whether you’ve been with us for a long time or are joining us for the first time.
