We open our four-part live coding concert series COLLAB with the famous duo Crash Server from Strasbourg.
SVDK & ZBDM describe their performances as post-mayhem live coding music. Their concerts are audio-visual narratives: immersive, danceable and unique every time.
They improvise code at breakneck speed and together try to crash an unpredictable server that simultaneously manipulates and challenges their code.
Musically, they move between electro, noise, glitch, ambient and IDM, while their visual projections reflect the multi-layered relationships of our digital world.
They have already tried to crash the server over 50 times in electro clubs, concert halls, museums, at festivals and in live streams - and this tireless battle is now entering the next round at Schleuse Zwei. The outcome is uncertain...

COLLAB
The COLLAB concert series brings together international and local artists to explore the creative potential of collaborative performance. The focus is on improvisation, experimentation and the linking of live coding with other forms of artistic expression.
Live coding is performative programming - a performing art in which artists write code in real time to create music or visual art. This technique makes it possible to make creative technical processes visible to the audience through projections and to involve them directly in the creation of the artwork.
Live coding is an innovative form of expression that questions the relationship between man and machine as well as art and audience in a new way.
