ABOUT THE TEACHER
Hannah Goldstein is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, collage, and video. Her work is rooted in feminist thought, challenging normative ways of thinking and addressing themes such as women’s histories, race, and gender imbalance in the art world. Through her collage practice, Goldstein works intuitively with juxtaposition, repetition, and fragmented imagery, allowing her work to explore both a love for the photographic image and a desire to challenge and dismantle it. She uses the act of cutting as a form of both deconstruction and resistance. She holds a B.A. in Photography from Bard College, where she studied with Stephen Shore, An-My Lê, and Larry Frank. In addition, she worked as an assistant to Nan Goldin and completed residencies and advanced studies at the Royal College of Art and the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie. In 2024, she completed a Master’s in Education in the Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is represented by Jacob Hoerner Galleries.
