The grandmother invites to a family celebration. The daughter returns to the confines of her childhood room. Son 1 likes to hear himself talk, while his companion remains stubbornly silent. Son 2, on the other hand, is incapable of standing up for himself and others. In complete contrast to his wife, who is always on the verge of exploding. The grandchildren, meanwhile, would rather be somewhere else.

As the tension mounts, trigger points are maltreated and passive aggression erupts into open conflict, one question remains: what is the cashier at the local supermarket actually doing here? In a furiously Dadaist showdown, Mia Oberländer tells of things that happen in every family... right?

*1995, is a comic artist and illustrator and has lived in Hamburg since 2015. For her graphic novel debut "Anna", she was awarded the 2021 Berthold Leibinger Foundation Comic Book Prize and a youth literature prize in the New Talent category. She has published work in the German-language edition of Le Monde diplomatique, ZEITmagazin and the New York Times, among others.
