Hands-on activities for the exhibition Cold as Ice. Cold in art and society

For the season finale of the Community Art Night, a curated DJ set with .umi. from Bremen and afro-infused sounds to warm you up awaits all interested parties. The clothes swap pop-up of the climate friendly Bremen initiative will also be a guest. As well as swapping and trying out clothes, you can work with fabric remnants at our hands-on stations and try out art cycling.

Condition and quantity of clothing for the clothing swap

  • Clean, washed and without holes
  • No underwear, shoes or socks (except new and unworn)
  • Bring a maximum of three to five items of clothing - take as many as you like

Cold as Ice. Cold in Art and Society is open until 6 pm. There will be short, multilingual guided tours and dialog talks in Arabic, German, English, Italian, Kurdish and Turkish.
An inclusive guided tour of the exhibition will take place from 6 to 7.30 pm. Specially designed to meet the needs of visually impaired and blind visitors. Joint meeting point at 5.45 pm outside the museum entrance. Please register by 1.3.2026 info@weserburg.de.

As part of the exhibition Cold as Ice. Cold in Art and Society.

For the Community Art Night:

During the exhibition Cold as Ice. Cold in Art and Society , the project space in the Weserburg invites you to warm up once a month on Thursdays from 5-8:30 pm. By creating and meeting together, a counterpoint to the cold is created here - open to all and beyond attributions, disciplines or languages.

The program is diverse: printing workshop, painting activities, silent reading & sketching event or a community choir. Finally, there will be a clothes swap pop-up and DJ set in March.

There will also be an opportunity to visit the Cold as Ice exhibition between 5 and 6 pm. Individual works will be presented during short guided tours and discussions with people from urban society and the museum.

Made possible by Sparkasse Bremen and sponsored by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
