Sewing Together – No Instructions Required
Usually every two weeks on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
at the Färberei, Claude-Lorrain-Straße 25

Are you familiar with sewing and know your way around a needle, thread, and sewing machines? Do you want to connect with the community, use our workshop together with others, develop ideas, experiment, and bring projects to life? Then you’ve come to the right place!

How does community sewing work?

• Through mutual support from people who already have experience with sewing
• by taking good care of tools, machines, and materials (please let us know if any tools or materials are broken!)
• by cleaning up together after sewing
• by taking home any sewing projects you’ve started; storage in the workshop isn’t available
• by paying the contribution toward expenses on your own

What is the contribution toward expenses for? Why is it important?
Part of your fee goes to the person on duty that evening, who locks the space up and lets you in, takes responsibility for the space and equipment, and organizes the schedule. The other part of your fee covers a portion of the costs incurred by the dyeing workshop in connection with the sewing workshop: material costs (thread, needles, chalk, etc.), repair costs, annual maintenance costs, the purchase of new machines and tools, as well as electricity and cleaning costs. With your contribution, you help ensure that the community sewing sessions can take place regularly!
