The event series for young artists in ZIMMER 16. Double concerts with refreshing, varied and sometimes surprising music and performances.
"concert double" presents this time:
Like Mint
Before Like Mint became a singer-songwriter and brought the delicate fragility of folk to the stage with her guitar and voice, she used the words of others to organize her inner life. With a growing desire to find her own voice, she began to play guitar and write songs. Growing up in a village in East Germany, she had few opportunities to experience the music she loved live. It wasn't until a year abroad and the discovery of Minneapolis' diverse music scene in 2010 that she opened up new perspectives and encouraged her to translate personal experiences into songs. With her new album On Second Thought, she provides an even deeper insight into her world of thoughts. Her music moves between open emotionality and reserved intimacy - melancholic, but in a refreshing, light way: Like Mint
Brea Robertson
Brea Robertson is an Australian singer-songwriter whose music is shaped by people and places. With her intimate voice and narrative lyrics, her songs combine vast landscapes with personal moments. Brea initially played festivals such as the Falls Festival, Maleny Folk Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe and supported Donovan Frankenreiter on his Australian tour. After moving to Berlin in 2016, she established herself as an independent touring artist, playing concerts in Europe, the UK and Asia. She has shared the stage with artists such as Ondara, Kim Churchill, The Bland, Folk Road Show and Daisy Chute. In 2019, she founded the indie folk duo Flora Falls together with Dominique Fricot. Today, Brea's solo project is developing into an open, creative space for new collaborations, most recently in a duo with Australian guitarist Viktor Rufus.
