About the play

Two people, two lives and an infinite number of possibilities in ever-changing experimental set-ups.
Quantum physicist Marianne meets Robert, who runs a beekeeping business. The play Constellations tells their life story in every conceivable variation.
In rapid succession of scenes, the play examines the most important moments in their lives and poses the question: what if they had decided differently? Sometimes tender and full of hope, sometimes painful, sometimes funny, Nick Payne combines science and emotion to create a play that turns every decision and every coincidence into a crossroads at which a whole universe of possibilities lies ahead of us.
Constellations tells of the uniqueness of our lives and the magic of the paths we have not taken.
