Contemporary Tuesday (Intermediate/Advanced)

This course is designed for dancers with prior experience who wish to deepen their practice of contemporary dance and develop their movement in a more nuanced, precise, and expressive way.
Building on floorwork, improvisation, and choreographic material, we will explore more complex movement principles and refine movement quality, coordination, and expression.

We use rhythm as an organizing principle: it helps us create movement with greater ease, dynamism, and clarity, and strengthens the body’s natural intelligence.

Regular repetition and continuous practice allow for a deep engagement with the material and create space for individual development. The focus is on understanding movement and the possibilities our bodies already offer us… not merely on reproducing forms.
