Cooleurs & M. Kemal Adatepe

The senior* painting group "Cooleurs "* from the Kulturladen St. Georg meets weekly with lots of creativity, humor and a love of art. The motto: When the world offers too many shades of gray, we paint it colorful. Everyone can do what they like, at their own pace, open to all. Artistic works from the past year and thus the range of creative work in the Stiftsviertel can be seen in the Kultur-Café.

In the room next door, M. Kemal Adatepe is showing paintings and photographs from the last 10 years. The Turkish artist has lived in Hamburg since 1999. Since 2011, he has been capturing on paper and canvas what catches his eye on his forays through the city. He wants to capture the fleeting, explore and reveal intermediate worlds. In addition to Hamburg perspectives, this also includes political themes such as flight and homelessness.

*Note: The Cooleurs* painting group, led by artists Benedikt Schich and Natalie Langer, meets every Thursday at 3 pm in the Kulturladen St. Georg (barrier-free access). Anyone who would like to join in is very welcome. Thanks to the generous support of the Georg Stilke Foundation, the offer is free of charge, including materials.
