In the organizer's words:

COOLING WATERS – A VIDEO WALK

🔜 Friday, July 3, 2026, 6–10 p.m.
📍 Areal Böhler

With “Cooling Waters – A Video Walk,” Areal Böhler, in collaboration with the Tara Ocean Foundation, presents an exhibition about the ocean, research, and wanderlust. The exhibition brings together film and performance works that emerged from artist residencies aboard the Tara Ocean Foundation’s research vessels.

Featured in the Video Walk are works by Pierre Huyghe, Maeva Bardy, Katia Kameli, Yoann Lelong, Malik Nejmi, Giulia Grossmann, and Ellie Ga.

For more than twenty years, the foundation has been exploring the world’s oceans and inviting artists to accompany its expeditions. The resulting works are displayed throughout the entire Areal—on crane tracks, on facades, and in the cool halls of the former steel mill.

In the midst of midsummer, images of icy landscapes, deep-sea expeditions, and marine habitats encounter concrete, steel, and heated surfaces. The video works will be complemented on Sunday by Ellie Ga’s live performance *The Fortunetellers* and the subsequent artist talk with Elke Kania.
