On the subject of anti-fascism

In its first and last show, the live radio program in front of an audience deals with the topic of anti-fascism. Guests will be the author Lothar Galow-Bergemann and the band BERLIN 2.0. The evening will be accompanied by musician Max Braun, with Aliki Schäfer and Andreas Vogel hosting the evening.

A radical shift to the right has gripped Europe and Germany: Racist and anti-Semitic hate speech on the internet and elsewhere now seems to be part of our everyday lives. Deportation plans for refugees and migrants are being prepared. Poll ratings and election results for right-wing populist parties are going through the roof. What does anti-fascism mean in 2026, how can we defend ourselves against a policy of inhumanity? In conversation with Lothar Galow-Bergemann and Elena Wolf (BERLIN 2.0), we discuss anti-fascist strategies: How can we learn from our own mistakes and counter the authoritarian wave with a chance of success?

Lothar Galow-Bergemann began working in nursing in 1971 and was an active trade unionist and staff council member at Mannheim and Stuttgart hospitals. He believes that overcoming capitalism is more urgent than ever, but is also familiar with the aberrations of left-wing wooden paths and believes that we should learn from them. He writes for Jungle World and Emma und Fritz, among others.

Stuttgart-based band BERLIN 2.0 have released their second album "Kaltental" in 2025 and challenge listeners to forget everything they thought they knew about post-punk. The acclaimed debut "Scherbenhügel" is followed by a dark, uncompromising thunderstorm of sound: hardcore outbursts, end-time pop, rock and radically clear lyrics hit the burning heart of our time - awakening in the downfall, for resistance in the madness.

Musical guests in the past have included Christiane Rösinger, Joy Denalane, Rainald Grebe, Dota Kehr and many others. The musician is also an equal part of the discussion in front of the microphone.

The aim of the radio show in front of an audience is to get into conversation with the listeners, to come to an understanding about a common topic, to discuss connections and interactions and to experience and question music that deals with the concept in terms of content and form. The now almost historical form of a live radio show in front of an audience is intended to serve as a foil for dealing with social and cultural phenomena and concepts in a broader context and for thinking about something together.
