Coup Dur & doe bed
In the organizer's words:
Coup Dur
The neo-twist-pop trio Coup Dur consists of Avril De Broucker on guitar, Clémence D'Hulst on bass, and César Laloux on drums. In 2015, they came together—commuting between their homes in Brussels, Antwerp, and Strasbourg—to refine a modern take on the Yé-Yé sound. This sound transports the romance of French chansons into parents’ garages and hobby basements—where it deconstructs them with equal parts precision and affection. What might sound abstract on paper turns out, after just a few seconds, to be an instant charm offensive. The eight tracks on their debut, *The English Want … Coup Dur* (2026, Precious Recordings), are so tight and masterfully composed that it’s hard to believe they were recorded in just two days in the studio. Live, Coup Dur needs even less time to win over everyone in the room.
doe bed
Putting on that old sweater that’s still the best one. Having time to keep reading a book that’s been lying next to the bed for far too long. Finding a postcard from the past that, after all, never happened. That’s roughly how doe bed’s music works. Kaline Thyroff (vocals, guitar, drums) and Jan Niklas Jansen (guitar, bass, vocals) founded the band somewhere between Cologne and Munich as what was then still an instrumental living-room duo. A playground for two music lovers who have always found meaning, comfort, and solace in songs, pop culture, and daydreams. After two albums on cassette and a vinyl single on the “Rheinschallplatten” label, doe bed have arrived at a sound that might remind some of Low, Ms. John Soda, or Mazzy Star. Album number three is in the works and will hopefully be released soon—like an old friend you’ve been meaning to call for ages, only to run into her by chance at the record store. File under: Indie Folk, Bedroom Pop, Lo-Fi Twee.
