How nice: Sam Riley is the movie star of this spring. Here he plays the brilliant ballet director John Cranko, who moves from Great Britain to the more liberal Stuttgart (!) in the 1960s.
You can't make this up: Banned from performing in Great Britain because he is gay, John Cranko ends up in Stuttgart. A guest choreography is followed by a rapid and steep rise to the top of the world stage. The "Stuttgart Ballet Miracle" is created, John Cranko becomes a superstar of his time.
