Course description:

Brazilian Zouk is a young dance with flowing movements and dynamic rotations. It has its Brazilian roots in Lambada, but allows the closeness of tango and the creative freedom of contemporary dance. You can move as sensually as in bachata or as lively as in salsa.

Zouk has become increasingly popular as a modern couple's dance in Europe in recent years. Musically, it is extremely varied and can be danced to traditional South American music or to modern songs from R'n'B, hip hop to pop. What makes it special is the wide range of possible interpretations: as a flow dance, R'n'B style or other styles, there is plenty to try out, discover and combine. Brazilian Zouk is so versatile that it offers you the space for your own personal expression.

Every 2nd Friday of the month from 5.30 pm to 7 pm our crash course for Zouk takes place in the rooms of Dresdner 59. This gives you a regular opportunity to get a taste of the dance, learn the basic steps and then try them out in the free practice time from 7pm to 10pm.

Lead and Follow - Brazilian Zouk only opens up its freedom through mindful and sensitive communication of the movements. Lead and follow is explicitly not linked to gender. Choose the role you feel!
