something to shout about

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

In view of global developments and out of a desire to understand how borders are created, Paulina Bedkowşka's new dance production "something to shout about" deals with the processes within and between societies that are involved in drawing, negotiating and defining borders.

Together with her team, she searches for elements that divide or connect - in the field of tension between one side - border - other side.

The work does not focus on the consequences of borders, but on the moment of their creation. It asks: If borders are more than just lines - in what space do we move and what price do we pay when we cross them? The piece aims to encourage people to consciously help shape boundaries and encourage them to communicate their own boundaries openly and clearly.

The dancers Maru Fagundes and Romain Lutinier explore borders on stage as an ongoing process of social and cultural meanings - and the ambivalence associated with them.

This dance production was funded and realized as part of Paulina Bedkowşka's residency at the Center for Art during the 2025/2026 season by the Senator for Culture Bremen, among others.
