Award-winning filmmaker Fatih Akin is reviving his groundbreaking documentary CROSSING THE BRIDGE THE SOUND OF ISTANBUL in a revised 4K remake almost 20 years after it was made. German musician Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) accompanied this enchanting musical journey through the heart of Istanbul with his mobile recording studio and captured the acoustic diversity of the city. Hacke discovered a broad musical spectrum ranging from electronic music, rock and hip-hop to classical arabesque. CROSSING THE BRIDGE THE SOUND OF ISTANBUL is a captivating crossover experience between traditional and modern music, between East and West, in the heart of the pulsating metropolis on the Bosporus.
