Dynamics are at the core of Mareena's ethos. The Tresor resident was never just about state-of-the-art techno, but equally drawn to introspective ambient soundscapes. Her own, aptly-titled label, event series and podcast, Unrush, is dedicated to this full spectrum, and she has also released a collaborative album with fellow artist JakoJako on the Japanese imprint Muzan Editions, too. The result in the club? Multifaceted techno with pronounced hints of dub (> I can't get tired of chords and delays <), paired with a finely tuned sense for space and texture.

Cruise-experienced Rene Wise is a regular guest at Blitz and draws from a background shaped by rhythm and percussion, inspired by his Iranian father, a former professional drummer. While rhythm is central to his work, he believes the real magic lies in sound design, and remains sceptical when people speak of a > Rene Wise sound. < He places his rather classicist approach in a lineage stretching from Robert Hood’s Minimal Nation to Luke Slater’s soundscapes and the Pole Group, who layed the foundations of his sound: > With them, rhythm was never necessarily at the center; nevertheless, it is obvious that it is there - and that is the great art, < he concludes.

Rounding out the Cruise program are Muallem and Partok, both deeply familiar with our queer Cruise crowd and the power of community and collaboration. Partok is behind the Laundrette series, where he indulges in extended b3b sessions with David Elimelech and Roi Perez, marked by a strong focus on drums and rhythm. Our very own Muallem, meanwhile, co-founded and built Blitz Club and Cruise with a simple yet essential guiding idea: to make people dance together.
