The Viennese band CULK announces their big fall tour 2026, providing the perfect setting for their highly anticipated new album "Smogstar", which will be released on September 4, 2026 via Siluh Records.

With "Smogstar", CULK open a new sonic chapter: more raw, direct and uncompromising. The band is more oriented towards the sound aesthetics of the New York underground scene of the 80s: a world between noise, art and radical expression. Influences of noise rock pioneers like Sonic Youth or Swirlies meet the urgency of bands like Unwound and are further developed by current acts like julie or Blue Smiley.

This "in-your-face" moment also characterizes the new songs: less distance, more immediate energy, which is discharged in dense arrangements and eruptive dynamics. The unmistakable voice of frontwoman Sophie Löw remains the emotional center, intense, vulnerable and at the same time carried by a new urgency.

In September, the band will bring their new songs to the stage for the first time and embark on an extensive tour through Germany and Austria. With their new tour, CULK are proving once again why they are one of the most exciting acts on the German-speaking indie scene. "Smogstar" is not a quiet statement, but an urgent soundtrack for a world in upheaval.
