About the Residency
How do we preserve diversity in narratives that constrain bodies? A 600-year-old document from the Marchivum stands at the center of this performative research lab. böse blumen follow a historical trail all the way to the present. The queer collective examines mechanisms of attributing femininity: from witches to hysteria to the societal disqualification of bodies—thereby opening up spaces for vulnerability and collective negotiation in equal measure. 

"böse blumen" examines the lines of pain created by cultural conditioning and their persistence in bodies. We work in multi-year, format-fluid research processes at the intersections of performance, music production, text, and artistic research. Our artistic practice is sustainable, process-oriented, and iterative: from lecture performances, concerts, and community art formats to installation-based exhibitions, we consistently explore different formats from a performative perspective.
