The songwriter, who comes from a family of musicians, has been on the road in German-speaking countries for over 15 years - and is no longer an insider tip. Back in 2011, she won 1st prize at the street music competition in Geldern. A year later, she appeared on radio and television for the first time: in 2012, WDR presented her as one of the "best street musicians" in North Rhine-Westphalia.

This was followed by numerous awards, including the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung Sponsorship Award in 2014 and the Liederbestenliste Sponsorship Award in 2019. With her current third studio album "Is' halt so!", Cynthia Nickschas was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award in the Rock category in 2023. In addition to renowned festivals such as Burg Herzberg, Bardentreffen, Songs an einem Sommerabend and Tollwood Munich, she has also collected intense live moments in front of the cameras and microphones of WDR, BR and Deutschlandfunk.

Together with her band of up to seven members, the "Friends", Cynthia Nickschas plays music in changing line-ups that deliberately defies any pigeonholing. Influenced by jazz, blues and rock, but also by classical singer-songwriter influences, she creates both loud and quiet songs, carried by a singer with a powerful voice who tells stories, touches and shakes people up with her impressive presence. Her lyrics are taken from life - cheeky, profound and almost always with a little hopeful twist.

Whether solo with guitar or together with her friends: Cynthia Nickschas knows how to transform any room, any space. She takes her audience on her very own journey through time and space, through melody, rhythm and very personal worlds of thought. And when the concert ends, many go home with a touch of salt in their wound - but at the same time with a big ray of sunshine in their hearts.
