The music legend Udo Jürgens would have been 90 years old on September 30 this year, and December 21 marks the tenth anniversary of his death. The feeling of missing him is greater than ever. But thanks to his long-time musical companion Pepe Lienhard, the world star will be returning to the stage from fall 2024: "Da Capo Udo Jürgens" presents the entertainer's musical legacy and surprises with a real sensation: the brand new and previously unreleased song "Als ich fortging", which will now be performed live on tour for the very first time. Discovered in Udo's estate, newly produced and arranged, the song will be a real highlight on the "Da Capo Udo Jürgens" tour.

Pepe Lienhard - gifted bandleader and saxophonist, but above all Udo's career companion and friend - didn't have to think twice, he recalls, when Semmel Concerts told him about the idea of bringing Udo Jürgens back on stage. Lengthy preparations followed, and the demands on the production were enormous. "Udo was always an absolute perfectionist," recalls Lienhard, who has worked with international superstars such as Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Whitney Houston. "We are of course obliged to live up to his standards and put on a show that is nothing less than perfect."

From fall 2024, ten years after his last concert in Zurich, fans will be able to see Udo Jürgens on stage once again - together with the same orchestra that accompanied him at concerts all over the world back then and for almost four decades. Under the title "Da Capo Udo Jürgens", a brand new, original show with Pepe Lienhard is coming to stages in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, celebrating the phenomenal global career and musical legacy of the legendary artist Udo Jürgens. "We are all very much looking forward to going on tour with Udo once again - now on the big screen," explains Lienhard euphorically.

Of course, his countless unforgotten hits such as "Ich war noch niemals in New York", "Griechischer Wein", "Aber bitte mit Sahne" and "Mit 66 Jahren" will not be missing. The live show "Da Capo Udo Jürgens" offers a truly exciting musical journey through the extraordinary life's work of this unique artist. Using state-of-the-art technology, the audience experiences a newly staged show both visually and acoustically - a perfect illusion: digitally edited original recordings of the last Udo Jürgens concerts are accompanied live on stage by the excellent orchestra under the direction of Pepe Lienhard - while Udo can be seen larger than life on a large screen in the background. If you close your eyes for a moment, you will get the impression that you are really at one of Udo Jürgens' concerts.
